PC Bests Cee-Bees, Improves to 3-0
Clay Battelle was no match for Paden City on Monday night as the Cats used superior net lay and hard serving to uphend the Cee-Bees in three straight sets 25-8, 25-13 and 25-10 to move to 3-0 on the early season. Coach Jennifer Yeater’s club got a huge night from their two junior front liners with Mallory Yeater scoring 18 points from the service line including 3-Aces. She also had 7-kills , 17 assists and 3-digs. Hope Weber ended with 12 points, 9-kills, 5-assists and 4-digs.
The Wildcats got great play from the supporting cast as well as Tanley McEldowney had a huge night at the service line with 10 points which included 8-Aces, while adding 5-digs. Cora Anders a four year player came through with 8-points, including 3-Aces and 5-digs. Brandis Dalrymple got 3-kills, Madison Kline had 5-points, and 5-kills, Hallie McDonald scored 3-points, had 3-kills and 3-assists while McKenzie Thomas chipped in with 4-assists. The Wildcats will return to action tonight has they host Beallsville at 6 p.m. Tonights match will be a salute and honor night for all military and first responders thanks to Post 86 auxillary.
Wildcats Kick Off 2019 Volleyball With Tri-Match Win
The Wildcats traveled to Hundred on Thursday night for their regular season opener and came home from the tri-match with the Hornets and East Richland, Ohio, with a 2-0 record. The Cats won set one against East Richland 25-4 as Hope Weber and Mallory Yeater filled the stat sheets. Yeater finished the set with six points including an ace, five kills, nine assists and a dig. Weber served up 14 points including five aces, slammed down six kills, added five assists and had two digs. Cora Anderson chipped in a point and added five digs, Tanley McEldowney was credited with five digs, Madi Kline got two kills, Brandis Dalrymple had a block and Hallie McDonald got one kill.
In set two the Wildcats won 25-20 while giving Weber, Yeater, and Anderson a breather. Tanley McEldowney had a nice set with nine digs, two points and an ace. Isabella Beverlin scored four points including two aces. Maggi Still got a point, three kills and three assists. McKenzie Thomas scored two points, had an ace, added two kills and seven assists. Madi Kline got one point, and two kills. McKenzie Lewis had a dig. Nevaeh Sweeney got two kills and Loren Little one point and one kill.
Match two saw Paden City take down the Hornets 25-10 and 25-1. In the first set Weber had one kill in limited playing time while Yeater also set most of the set and ended with one kill and two assists. Cora Anderson had two kills and an assist. Hallie McDonald three points including two aces, plus one assist. Brandis Dalrymple got one kill, Madi Kline scored 12 points from the service line including five aces while adding a kill. Tanley McEldowney had two digs and Maggi Still got one dig.
Set two saw Yeater scored 20 service points including six aces while adding a kill, three assists and a dig. Weber added five kills. Andderson ended with three points, three aces and two assists. Dalrymple got a kill, a block and an assist. McEldowney added a dig.
