Spotlight: Valley’s Hunter Wood

By Staff | Jul 17, 2019

Hunter Wood

This weeks Spot-Light is on the Valley Lumberjacks Hunter Wood. Hunter is a very good kid that works his tail-off practice after practice and game-after-game, day-in-and-day-out. This 4-year player comes to work ready to get it on once the season starts. He is a team-player that gets a long with anyone, and will do anything his coaches tell him to do, and never asks why, just goes with the flow, and because of his actions he is very well liked, both on and off the field.

Besides being a strong kid, he is is very versatile, and after giving his all in the first half of a game, he takes his gear off and starts all over again in the band during half-time activities.

Hunter is a senior Trombone player, and has been in the band for 8-years. He is the Low Brass section leader for the 2019-2020 season, and was selected to participate in the Marshall University honor band, Virginia Tech Honor Band, and Glenville State College Honor Band. He was also a participant in the 2018 WVU Trombone Day. Hunter was a featured soloist in the 2018 field show and has been a participant of the Wetzel County All County Band for the last 3-years.
