Hornets Close Out ’19 Season
Hundred’s Travis McCoy wraps a base hit for the Hornets.
The Hundred Hornets baseball program has finished its 2019 season with a pair of defeats in the Region I, Section I Sectionals at the BJ Chambers Complex at I470 May 6-7 by the identical scores of 10-0 to Wheeling Central and Weirton Madonna.
In the opener, Central scored seven runs in the first inning, while scoring single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings in the mercy-rule shortened game. Christen Fluharty took the loss from the mound, striking four and walking just as many.
Sonny Peluchette singled, tripled and knocked in a pair, while Angelo Gentile doubled twice and knocked in a run.
Gauge Boston and Travis McCoy each had a base-hit for Hundred.
Against Weirton Madonna, Bryce Bartrug, Marlin Hippensteel and Charles Rine each had a hit.
The Hornets finished the season with a 6-12 record will lose three seniors to graduation in Jacob Allen, Charles Rine and Travis McCoy.
