Tustin, Lollathin Honored

By Staff | May 1, 2019

Hundred’s Hunter Tustin earned a spot as Athlete of the Week after going 5-for-7 with two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored for the Hornets.

Again we had some outstanding performances from our area athletes, so we bumped it up one to two athletes, with the Hundred Hornets’ Hunter Tustin, and the Lady Pilots’ Riley Lollathin being honored.

The Hundred Hornets baseball team has been picking up quality wins so we selected Hundred Hornet first baseman Hunter Tustin.

Hunter has put together a pretty nice season together, and last week he kept pounding the ball while making outstanding defensive plays to boot.

He was 5-for-7 at the plate with a pair of doubles and knocked in five and scored three times, while the fleet-footed first-baseman ran the bases like Lou Brock back in his day with the Cardinals.

Riley did pretty well for herself, too. She was a home-run shy of hitting for the cycle and three RBI. She was perfect 4-4.

River’s Riley Lollathin secured her Athlete of the Week spot after finishing 4-4 and coming up a home-run shy of hitting for the cycle while driving in three runs for the Pilots.

Only area athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley are eligible to win the athlete of the week, and can only do it one time, until they reach tournament time.
