Henderson Wins High Point at Rush Invite

Hundred’s Katherine Henderson won the high points in the girls division at the Rush Invitational. She won the high jump, came in second in the long jump, and claimed fifth place in the 200-meter run to help Hundred finish fourth with 66 points.

Elkins claimed the girls portion of the Rush Invitational with 107 points. The Hundred boys finished ninth with 15 points, while East Fairmont won it all with 112 points. Tygarts Valley placed second with 105 points.

Henderson (14.0) placed second to Tiara Rowe (13.41) of Elkins in the long jump, while Hundred freshman Addie Tuttle was fifth. Rowe (27.19) also won the 200-meter dash, while Henderson (29.33) was fifth.

Also scoring for Hundred were Tuttle (30.72) and Brooke Yoho (30.75). Elkins’ Sofia Triplett (1:03.74) won the 400-meter dash, while the Hornets’ Emily Metz (1:09.70) was second. In the 800-meter run, East Fairmont’s Erykah Christopher (2:27.48) was first, while the Hornets’ Rachel Snedden (3:02.50) and Iris Woodward (3:11.13) each scored.

The Hornet 4×800 meter relay team (12:04.52) of Brooke Yoho, Metz, Woodward and Snedden was second to Elkins at (11:31.81). Henderson (4-8) won the high jump, while teammate Metz also jumped (4-8) came in second. Henderson (15-5) also won the long jump, while Tuttle (13:02.50) placed sixth.

In the boys meet, the Hornets’ Cody Soles (24.71) was fourth, and the Cee-Bees’ Nathan Swaniger (23.12) was first in the 200-meter dash. Hornet teammate Jacob Kuhn (1:01.14) scored points in the 400-meter dash, and Ducati Linn (53.91) of East Fairmont was first. Martin Baker (2:19.95) of Hundred finished fifth, while the Clay-Battelle’s Chase Ammons (2:09.22) was first in the 800-meter run.

Hundred’s 4×200 meter relay team (1:47.89) of Soles, Kuhn, Baker and Joseph White scored, and Morgantown (1:38.10) had the fastest time. Kuhn, White, Baker and William Lemasters (10:13.34) was third in the 4×800 meter relay, while East Fairmont (9:14.34) was first. Soles (5-4) was fourth in the boys high jump, with Grafton High’s Christopher Loomis (5-6) getting the win.

In the track meet at Clay-Battelle High School, Fairmont Senior took first place in the boys division with 213 points, while the Hundred boys finished in third – only 10 points behind Madonna who took second place. The Valley Lumberjacks finished eighth. The Hundred girls track team finished fifth and the Valley ‘Jills finished seventh, while Madonna nipped Fairmont Senior, 122-121, for first place.

Henderson (13.72) placed first in the 100-meter dash, while Tuttle (14.31) was fourth. Henderson also won the long jump (15-9.50), with Tuttle (13-03.75) coming in fifth. Henderson (4-10) placed second; Metz placed (4-8) third, and Kaylie Laskody (5-0) of Trinity won the high jump in the meet at Clay-Battelle.

The Lady Hornets’ Brooke Yoho (30.30) was fifth, and the Cee-Bees’ Hailey Carreon (27.99) was first in the girls 200-meter dash. The Lumberjills’ Kim Soles (1:12.89) was sixth in the 400-meter dash, to Fairmont Senior’s Eden Williams (1:06.78) who won. Woodward (7:12.47) scored in the 1,600-meter run for Hundred, with Fairmont Senior’s Maya Brinson (5:34.51) getting the best time.

The Lumberjills (1:01.73) team of Madyson Barnette, Laci Dorson, Kim Soles and Kendall Williams placed fifth, with the Cee-Bees (54.86) getting the win in the 4×100 meter relay. The Hundred 4×200 meter relay team (2:10.91) of Tuttle, Yoho, Metz and Snedden had the top time, with the Lumberjills (2:10.91) team of Barnette, Laci Dotson, Soles and Williams finishing fourth. The ‘Jills (5:45.50) team of Dotson, Emma Beatty, Americus Ueltschy and Barnette placed fourth to Madonna who had (4:47.22).

Cody Soles (24.42) of Hundred was third in the 200-meter dash, and Cee-Bee speedster Nathan Swaniger (23.40) had the best time. Soles (5-2) also was second to JD Smith (5-4) of Fairmont in the high jump. Smith (20-3) also won the long-jump, while Soles (16-5) finished second. the ‘Jacks Joe Larrimore (15-3) finished sixth.

The Hornets’ William Lemasters (1:04.52) scored in the 400-meter dash to Jaden Richardson (53.89) of Fairmont Senior. Richardson (2:06.52) also had the top time in the 800-meter run, with the Hornets’ Baker (2:17.87) finishing fifth.

The Hornets (1:48.49) 4×200 meter relay team of Soles, White, Baker and Lemasters was fourth, with Fairmont Senior (1:37.38) getting the win.

In the shot put, the Fairmont Senior’s Zach Frazier (38-11) was first, and the Hornets; Travis McCoy (36-0) was second. Valley’s Hunter Wood (34-11) was third. McCoy (98-04) was third to Frazier (122-00.50) in the discus.
