The Hundred Hornets’ Travis McCoy and the River Pilots’ Michael Johnson are this week’s recipients of the Wetzel Chronicle’s “Athlete of the Week” title.

McCoy put together a double-double in his first game of the season against Cameron with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson netted a career-high 31 points in the Pilots’ win over Barnesville.

Only area athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley are eligible to win the “Athlete of the Week” title and can only do it one time, until they reach playoffs as well as conference tournaments.
