Eagles Capture Five-Team Match
Trey Blain shot an even par to win medalist honors Aug. 29 at Fairway Riverside Golf Course, helping Magnolia nose out a very good St Marys squad -181-206 – and win a five-team match.
Blain paced the Blue Eagles with a 35, while Alex Parker followed with a 45. Alex Milliken shot a 47, while Olivia Mensore finished the Blue Eagle scoring with a 51.

Finish Second At Riverside
The Eagles’ Trey Blain shot a three over par (36), good enough for runner-up medalist and to lead Magnolia to a second place finish in a five-team high school golf match, Aug. 27 at the Fairway Riverside Golf Course.
St. Clairsville took top honors with 165, while Magnolia finished second with a 183; River fell to the fifth spot with a 279.
Following Blain was Alex Parker with a 43, while Olivia Mensore shot a 49 and Alex Milliken a 52 for Magnolia.
Logan Alleman had the lowest score for the Pilots with a 49, while teammates Daniel Swegard (73), Chase Sibert (78) and Matt Lancaster (81) finished the scoring for a 279.
Jordan Stackpole Leads Wildcats At Sistersville
The Paden City Wildcats’ golf team finished a six-team match at the Sistersville Country Club in fifth place with a 244, while Tyler placed fifth (227) and Linsly (171) getting the win by a stroke to Roane County.
Jordan Stackpole had the lowest score for the Wildcats with a 54, while Max Saxon finished with a 55. Teammates Michael Shreves (67) and Reece Blatt (68) finished off the team scoring.
Blue Eagles Place Second At Riverside
The St. Clairsville Redskins golf team recently shot 10 shots lower than the Magnolia Blue Eagles’ second with 179, while Bridgeport (184) and Martins Ferry (209) followed.
Trey Blain shot a four over par with a 40, while teammates Alex Parker (46), Olivia Mensore (45) and Alex Milliken (48) helped the Eagles finished second overall.
Bradon Vucelich of St. Clairsville won medalist honors with a one over par (37).
Blue Eagle Golfers Win Six-Team Field
The Magnolia Blue Eagles’ golf team recently tallied 179 points, while St. Marys (183) came in second. The River Girls (203) finished third, River Boys (207) fourth, Tyler Consolidated (223) fifth, and Paden City (258) sixth.
Trey Blain, the Eagles #1 golfer, and Ridge Thompson, the Pilots #1 golfer, each scored a 35 in the nine-hole match to win co-medalist. Alex Parker (43), Olivia Mensore (48) and Alex Millikan (53) each contributed low scores to help Magnolia secure the win.
Thompson was followed by Logan Alleman (45), Chase Sibert (59) and Matt Lancaster (68) for the Pilots’ boys squad. St. Marys’ low score came from Grant Barnhart with a 40.
The River girls team’s low score came from Sierra Knowlton with a 40, while Tabitha Straub (49), Olivia Romick (57) and Serena Lude (60) propelled the girls past three boys’ squads.
The Silver Knights’ Christopher Potoczny (51), Anna Griffith (52), Haiden Placer (59) and Mackinley Gibbs (61) – and the Wildcats Jordan Stackpole (60), Matt Saxon (64), Michael Shreves (66) and Reece Blatt (68), closed out all the area golfer scores at Sistersville Country Club, Aug. 21.
Pilots Second in Quad
The River Pilots’ Logan Alleman shot a one under par, 34, to lead the Pilots to a second place in a quad match with Tyler, Martins Ferry, Monroe Central and Shadyside on Aug. 30 at Powhatan’s Clair-Mar Golf Course.
Alleman was the match’s medalist finish
The Martins Ferry team won overall with a 183, while River tallied a 186 and Monroe Central a 193 for the top three scores.
Following Alleman was Ridge Thompson with a 44, while Daniel Swegard (53), Chase Sibert (55) Matthew Lancaster (61) followed for the River Pilots.
