Cameron Shuts Out Hundred

By Staff | Sep 5, 2018

The Hundred Hornets senior Andrew Zedell gained 142 yards, but it wasn’t enough to get past the Cameron Dragons, 54-0, in a mercy-rule shortened game Aug. 31 at Cosgray Field in Hundred.

All of the Cameron Dragons points came in the first half with a little help by three interceptions and a couple offensive miscues. Meanwhile the Hornets’ shot to score came midway in the third period when they had the ball on the three-yard line, while the game had to end because the ambulance had to go on a call. The game ended with a mercy-rule coming into effect.

Zedell gained 142 yards on only 19 carries, while Skylar Goff’s three completions added up to 45 yards. Bryce Bartrug hauled in one pass for 11 yards, while Gauge Boston hauled in a pair for 34 yards.

Defensively, Goff made seven solo tackles from his safety position, while Boston and Brandon Rine each hauled down five Cameron runners, and David Derby four stops.

Martin Baker punted five times that accumulated 153-yards.
