Hornets’ Thinclads Setting Goals for Season
This year’s 2018 Hundred Hornet boys and girls track teams have many goals this season, besides just competing the best that they can.
When asked their goals, the members of the team replied by declaring, “I want to beat my best time,” or “I want to place,” or “I want to do well in the regional and go to state.” Goals even include “I want to at least plate in state, if not win it.”
These goals are very within each team member’s grasp. HHS head boys coach Sean Snedden, and girls head coach Lisa Crago have 14 dedicated track athletes out at the start of the season and have them working as hard as they can to be able to reach the lofty goals the athletes have.
The boys have eight out starting with one senior, Tyler Simms, and ending with their only freshmen in Skylar Goff. Leading the sophomores are Cody Soles, Martin Baker and Billy Lemasters, while Travis McCoy will head up a very talented junior group that consists of Braden Rine and Elijah Geho.
The girls have two seniors on the squad in Chelsea Cottrell and Maggie McGill; two juniors in Emily Metz and Katherine Henderson; and two sophomores in Destiny Eastham and Iris Woodward.
The Hornets track team will be participating in their first track meet at Clay-Battelle on March 27.
