Hundred Hornets Topple Mapletown
The Hundred Hornets outscored the hometown Mapletown Maples, 17-6, in the opening stanza and never looked back in toppling Mapletown, 67-45, on Feb. 8.
The two middle periods were close with the Hornets scoring one deuce more to hold a 49-36 lead, heading into the final period of play. The Hornets’ Cody Soles scored 12 of his game-high 27 points in the final stanza to help Hundred double-up Mapletown, 18-9, to get the win.
Soles was one steal from his second-straight triple-double – 27 points, 14 rebounds and nine steals, while dishing out six assists and blocking four shots. Logan Norris followed with 14 markers, while Skylar Goff returned from the flu bug tallied eight points, that included a three-ball.
In addition, Adam and Aaron Stephens each tallied six points, while Elijah Geho drained a triple, and Travis McCoy and Martin Baker each sank a deuce.
