Hundred Hornets Pick Up First Win Of Season

The Hundred Hornets outscored East Richland, 19-11, in the third period and held on for a 56-52 victory Jan. 11.
After falling behind 17-12 in the first period, the Hornets kept it close with Travis “double-double” McCoy leading the way with four baskets.
The Hundred defense rose to the occasion in the second period, holding East Richland to only eight points in the second period, while putting up a dozen points, with Logan Norris leading the way with five points, while Cody Soles made four free throws, and McCoy sinking three markers in leading the charge for Hundred.
Hundred out-scored their hosts, 19-11, led by three baskets from beyond the arc by Adam Stephens, while McCoy sank a trio of two-pointers to keep the Hornets on top, 43-36.
Both teams played toe-to-toe for most of the period, with East Richland scoring 16 points, with Hundred adding 15 with the help of McCoy with four two-pointers, and Norris with his second three-point basket to get the Hornets their first win of the season.

McCoy led the way offensively as well as defensively, scoring a game-high 25 points and pulling down a game-high 17 rebounds for a double-double, with eight coming off the offensive boards. Soles stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Soles also added four steals and blocking two shots.
In addition, Adam Stephens provided all his nine points from beyond the arc. Logan Norris tallied eight markers, that included two three pointers, while grabbing eight rebounds, and making six steals. Aron Stephens finished off the Hundred scoring and four points, while making three assists, and two steals.
The Hornets will look to continue their winning ways when they host Montcalm, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. with the junior varsity tip-off and the varsity game to follow 20 minutes later.

Hundred Hornets Searching For First Win
The Hundred Hornets’ Travis McCoy scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, but it wasn’t quite enough to get past West Greene on Dec. 29.
Hundred, competing at home, was only down three points after one period of play, 16-13.
The Hornets were down, 27-20, at the break, before West Greene then went on a 34-29 second half run, getting by the Hornets, 62-49.
HHS freshman Skylar Goff tallied 10 points, including one from beyond the arc. Logan Norris added nine markers, that included a triple. Cody Soles pitched in with three points and Aaron Stevens sank a deuce.
