Wildcats Wallop Hornets

Paden City raced out to a 16-2 first quarter lead and never looked back in defeating Hundred, 57-14, in girls basketball action Dec.18 inside the Hornets Nest.

The Lady Wildcats’ defense held the Hornets to single-digit scoring in all four periods, with five baskets that included a three pointer, and 3-4 from the free throw line.

Mahalya Britton paced the Hornets with three two-point baskets, while Victoria Hawkins swished a three-ball, and Kayley Davis a two-pointer. Katherine Henderson followed with two made free throws, while Brittany Mars sank one.

The Paden City offense made 24 goals and tallied 9-19 free throws, with Hannah Loy leading the Wildcats with a game-high 18 points. Abbe Stackpole provided 14 points, while Skylar Fulks posted an even dozen.

In addition, Paige Lenard added eight points, while Erin McIntire sank five. Raven Fulks sank a deuce.
