Wood County Christian Defeats Hundred, 41-35

In the Hornets’ closest game of the season, Wood County found a way to keep Hundred from gaining the nod, 41-35, Dec. 5 inside the Hornets Nest.

Katherine Henderson had a big night as she scored a game-high 15 points, while hauling in seven rebounds, seven steals, two blocks and dished out an assist. Mahalah Britton had a big night as well, as she stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, 21 rebounds, three blocks and made two steals in her best game of the season.

In addition, Jaden Ray also had an explosive outing, tacking on four points, nine rebounds and blocked one shot, while Victoria Hawkins provided three points and three rebounds. Emily Metz also added three points, while filling the stat sheet with one steal, one rebound and one assist.

Kayley Davis added the final points with two, while contributing three blocks, two steals and two rebounds. Brittany Mars also had a productive outing as she grabbed two rebounds and made a steal, while Kayla Matthews dished out an assist, and made a steal.

Clay-Battelle 54, Hundred 10

Katherine Henderson provided eight points, two blocks, two rebounds, and passed out an assist; however, it was not quite enough as Clay-Battelle would go on to defeat Hundred, 54-10, in girls basketball action in Blacksville on Dec. 4.

Mahalah Britton scored the Hornets’ only other basket, while hauling in seven rebounds and rejecting two Cee-Bee shots. Emily Metz delivered an assist and hi-jacked two, while Victoria Hawkins and Kayyley Davis each made an assist. Jaden Ray recorded two rebounds for all the Lady Hornets statistics.

The Cameron Dragons Burns Hornets, 91-9

The Lady Dragons had an easy time with the Hundred Hornets, outscoring them 91-9, on Dec. 1 inside the Hornets Nest.

Katherine Henderson compiled a team-high three points, while high-jacking two, and passing out an assist, to lead the Lady Hornets. Emily Metz, Kayley Davis and Mahalah Britton each sank a deuce, with Metz making two steals, Davis one and grabbed a rebound. Britton led the Hornets with eight rebounds, while swatting away a pair of Dragon shot attempts.
