By Staff | Sep 20, 2017

There we a lot of area athletics worthy of “Athlete of The Week;” however the Eagles’ Brooks Parsons had a remarkable game against the River Pilots.

Parsons led the way with 177-yards on seven receptions and a score, as well as a 85-yard kick-off return for a touchdown to start the game, earning Athlete of the Week.

For Special Mention, three Lumberjacks – Levi Streets, Tyler Kocher and Travis Leek – made some noise with their win over Clay-Battelle.

Streets had 105-yards rushing on 10 carries, and two touchdowns, while making nine tackles in a quarter and-a-half, while Kocher piled up 115-yards on 21 carries and a touchdown, and Leek ran back a 85-yard kick-return for a touchdown. He made nine tackles, and had a fumble recovery.

The Blue Eagles’ Matt Morgan had two of the Magnolia goals in the Eagles’ 3-2 win over St Marys in soccer, earning himself an Honorable Mention.

Other top athletes to get Honorable Mention were, freshmen Mallory Yeater and classmate Hope Weber. Yeater scored 60-points, 30-assists, and made 10-kills in losses to Wheeling Central and Beallsville, while Weber, scored 30-points and 37-kills and six blocks.
