Lady Pilots Claims Runner-Up in Mud Bowl Invitational

Photo by Bruce Crawford The Eagles Karina Patel goes through the Magnolia Mud-Bowl, in record fashion as she was voted outstanding runner of the Meet.

Livi Beard placed third in the women’s Mud Bowl Sept. 16 at the New Martinsville Marina with a time of 21:23 to lead the Pilots to a second place team Invitational with 36-points.

The Blue Eagles Karina Patel (22::43) finished sixth and Aubrey Hall, (23:19 in seventh place respectively.

The Pilots Kaitlyn Dotterer (25:45) placed ninth, while teammates, Sofie Myers (26:11), Adri Karpacs-Brown (26:25), Mekayla Dye (31:58). and Jenna Tucker (34:03) all finished the course beating their best time of the year.

The Paden City Wildcats Arissa Kline (29:15) and Hannah Loy (30:48) placed q5th and 16th, respectively. Paige Leonard had a solid time of (33:30).

In the boys meet, Cooper Brown of River had the best area time (19:54) good enough for seventh place, while Paden City’s Matthew Saxon (20:43) of Paden City, placed ninth. The ‘Cats kept in going as they would place two in the top 10 in Landon Smith (20:45).

In addition, Britton DeGarmo (21:08) of River placed in 12th, while the Eagles lone male runner, Austin Pyles (22:23) finished 13th. Damien Britton (22:43) and Paxton Pierce (28:34) finished our area runners in 14th and 20th, respectively.

In the Middle school race, the Pilots Camryn Caldwell (14:11) and Short Line’s Winter Higgins (15:04) were the two top area runner for the Girls race.

Paden City’s Brandon Hizer (15:22) had the top time in the boys race, while Kolton Dotterer of River, and Owen Brown of Short Line (17:09) all competed in the middle school race.
