By Staff | Jun 28, 2017

Malayna Price

This week, the Wetzel Chronicle will shine its Sports Spotlight on a top-notch area athlete who hails from Paden City – Malayna Price. She is a senior who participates in volleyball and cheerleading.

She helped the Lady Wildcats win another Mason-Dixon volleyball title, as well as place in the OVAC cheerleading competition last year. Price is a hustler on the courts and gives 100 percent, trying to run down a spike, including diving on the floor. She has a remarkable serve and a smile on her face, continuously.

We gave her nine questions to answer. See the scoop, as follows:

What do you want people know about you, that most people didn’t know? I’m a hardworker, outside of school and sports.

What is your favorite TV show, and why? Pretty Little Liars. I don’t have a reason. It’s just interesting to watch.

What is your favorite book, and why? The Giver, because it is a utopian world novel where everything is peaceful.

If you could go back in time, who would you want to hang out with? My great-grandma because she was wise and found good in everything and everyone.

From a scale of 1-10, what would you rate yourself as a singer, in the crowd? I would rate myself as a three.

The scame scale, what would you rate yourself as a dancer. What would you dance to? I’m not sure.

What is your favorite thing to do when you get ready for a game? Listen to music and being around my teammates.

With one year left, what is there left to accomplish in sports? Going to state in volleyball is my major goal. It would be the best experience, and I would love to take my team to state my senior year. Also, in basketball, just making myself a better teammate and winning whatever we can get our hands on. In cheerleading, working harder than any other year.
