From My View For April 19
After taking in the Ebert Brothers’ Family and Friends Spring Show at the New Martinsville Lincoln Theater, I was astonished about how many people were in attendance. It was paced with very few seats not filled, including the balcony.
It has has been a long time, since I have been in attendance, that the Lincoln Theater has been packed. It was nice to see and hear all the county and gospel music being played. It was awesome! Ray and Gary Ebert put on a great show.
However, I was distracted by a few older ladies that were talking very loud during the playing and singing. I thought that it was not very courteous of them.
However, they did have an awfully great time, singing and dancing.
The Lincoln Theater is one of the oldest theaters still in business, and we need to keep shows coming into it. New Martinsville Parks and Recreation does a great job in keeping the place spruced up, but the people also need to respect the facility and pick up after themselves. The people who work there are doing a good job, but we must do a great job too.
Besides the Lincoln Theater distraction, we need to be more courteous at the sporting events we go to. You can have fun, but when you go the extra mile to distract a hitter, tennis player, or track participant, shame on you. Be the bigger person.
This also goes hand-in-hand at the work-place too. Be thoughtful to your co-workers and employees too.
I’m heading to Canada for the Easter break, and will most likely have a column next week on the trip. I hope you all had a great Easter, and stay safe.
