Hornets Split Two

Hundred Hornet senior Danny Stewart rifled in a career-high 41 points to push him over 1,000 career points, helping Hundred knock off the Beallsville Blue Devils, 76-58, in boys basketball action inside the Hornets Nest, Feb. 4.

Hundred raced out to a modest 21-19 advantage after one period of play, and went on a scoring frenzy, netting a season-high 32 points in the second period to take a 53-37 lead at the break.

The Blue Devils outscored their hosts, 33-23, in the second half, but it was a little too late, as the Hornets took care of business, winning 76-58.

Besides scoring 41 points, Stewart added 10 rebounds for a double-double, while contributing five steals and dishing out four assists. Travis McCoy also tallied a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds. Cody Soles also tallied 12 markers while contributing eight rebounds. Finishing out the Hornets scoring was Devon Kimble with three points.

Dakota Phillips and Kolton Rush paced the Blue Devil scoring with 23 and 17 points, respectively.


Hornets Fall Short Against Meadowbridge

Danny Stewart scored a game-high 25 points, but it wasn’t quite enough for Hundred to get past Meadowbridge, 75-50, in boys H.I.T. Basketball action inside the Hornets Nest Feb. 3.

Following Stewart was Cody Soles with seven points, including a three pointer, while Preston Kuhn sank a pair of three-point bombs. Travis McCoy and Devon Kimble each knocked down a basket from beyond the arc. Aaron Stephens finished all the Hornets scoring with a deuce.


Dragons Blow Out Hornets, 77-37

The Cameron Dragons outscored the Hundred Hornets, 41-9, in the first half, and went on to cruise the rest of the way for a 77-37 victory over homestanding Hundred Feb. 2.

Travis McCoy paced the Hornets with nine points, while Charles Matthews sank eight markers and Cody Soles added seven points, to lead the way offensively.

Devon Kimble clocked in with five markers, while Preston Kuhn and Travis Norris each sank four. Chase Sturm netted two while Austin Stiles produced a free throw.

Logan Routt paced the Dragons with 19 points, while Colby Brown added 14, and Aiden Lucey, 13 points.
