Players Of The Week Named: Goff and Pilant

By Staff | Jan 18, 2017

The Blue Eagles’ Kendra Pilant and the Lady Hornets’ Madeline Goff are this week’s players of the week.

Pilant was instrumental in the Lady Eagles winning the Boggs Pizza and Grill Girls Roundball Classic.

Pilant was two blocks shy of getting a triple-double in the championship victory over Valley. Scoring 11 points and grabbing 24 rebounds, Pilant added 15 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, while swatting away three Tyler shots.

Goff scored a game-high 15 points, including three baskets from beyond the arch, to lead Hundred past Paw Paw, 39-25, in the opener of the Home Town Invitational Tournament for the Hornets’ second win of the season.

During the winter season, athletes that are named “Player of the Week” can only win once during the regular season. Only athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley can be named Player of the Week. The students athletes are selected by the sports staff at the Wetzel Chronicle.
