Hundred Hornets Win Season Opener, 53-28
The Hundred Hornets’ Danny Stewart scored a game-high 24 points, including two baskets from beyond the arc, while the Hornets’ defense limited East Richland to single digits in three of four periods to win, 53-28 Dec. 10.
After holding a 16-11 advantage after one period of play, the Hornets out-scored their hosts, 16-7 to take a 32-18 lead at the break, and cruised the rest of the way with seven different Hornet players getting points.
Following Stewart’s 24 points, eight rebounds and nine steals, Kole Soles netted nine markers, while Devon Kimble posted seven points, including one from beyond the arc.
Tyler Norris contributed three baskets, while pulling down eight boards, and rejecting seven shots. Chase Sturm sank two baskets and grabbed eight boards off the glass, while Adam and Aaron Stephens each recorded a deuce.
Hundred will tangle with the Blue Devils in Beallsville Dec. 13.
