Players of the Week

By Staff | Nov 9, 2016

Hunter Partridge

This is the last edition of “Players of the Week” for the fall sports season. This week’s honors go to Magnolia football players Peau Halahingano and Hunter Partridge.

However, we must also single out a pair of area players that did quite well. Yet, these two have already won.

Kelsi Chapman and Taylor Ludewig did very well in the Sectionals against Tyler Consolidated and Ritchie, as did Chase Street in football. The Pilots’ Lukas Isaly, as well as the Lumberjacks’ Levi Streets and Magnolia’s Nick Priem have done a superb job this past Friday night. You can check out their stats in this weeks’ sports section.

But, you must throw Peau Halahingano and Hunter Partridge into the fold. Halahingano had an outstanding game against Moorefield – he scored a rushing touchdown, as well as tossing one, while making five tackles on defense.

Partridge scored on a two-point conversion and blocked a punt, while making 10 tackles, including five solos. He also added a tackle for loss of yardage, a quarterback sack, forced a fumble, and recovered two fumbles in the 55-0 shutout of Moorefield.

There will be no “Players of the Week” until the winter season opens late November. Only area high school teams – that include Hundred, Magnolia, Paden

City, River and Valley – can win until the regular

season is over.
