From My View For Nov. 2
TEAMWORK is a cooperative or coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a team in the interests of a common cause, like winning a ball game. It’s the process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal.
TEAMWORK is often a crucial part of a business, as it is often necessary for colleagues to work well together, trying their best in any circumstance.
TEAMWORK means that people will try to cooperate, using their individual skills and providing constructive feedback, despite any personal conflict between individuals.
After the baseball game between the Cleveland Indians and Toronto, I just wanted to write a column on this thing we call TEAMWORK.
The Indians used six relievers that combined for 25 outs, 128 pitches, while limiting the Blue Jays to a pair of runs and seven hits, after their starting pitcher went down early in the game with a bloody pinkie.
The TEAMWORK used by seven pitchers was only one part, while the rest was the players came through to outscore Toronto to get the win. They used a bunch of players that worked toward one goal and it worked to perfection.
There is no “I” in team, and they all had one objective and it was do their part into winning a game. Not always does teamwork win a game, because the other team is also using TEAMWORK to beat you. Teams will need to step up and do what they can to achieve their objective.
TEAMWORK, is just as important at work as it is in sports, and it is still as exciting when it all comes together – Like our high school football tab being put together.
In sports in general, you better have teamwork if you want to win games. If it wasn’t for the Cleveland Cavilers bench and teamwork, they wouldn’t have won their first NBA title, as well as the Magnolia football team last season and this year’s River squad. You might win games with outstanding players, but if you didn’t have someone blocking for you, or catching and throwing the ball, it would be very hard to win.
Take wrestling for instance. It is an individual and team sport. When you are on the mat, it’s you against another, but how about those guys that gets you ready at practice that motivates you to do what you do, while taking a beating in preparation of the match?
Remember, teamwork is everywhere if you want to succeed in winning or doing a good job. Like the song that Tim McGraw sings – be humble and kind; it will get you everywhere in life.
