Street, Jobes Named Players of the Week

Jobes rushed for 102 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns, while Streets recorded an even 100 yards, while making nine tackles – including the team’s only quarterback sack.
The entire Magnolia girls volleyball team earned Special Honorable Mention, as they defeated six quality teams in straights sets in the Weirton Volleyball Tournament, Saturday.
Also earning Special Mention was Magnolia’s Sebastian Stickler. He recorded 14 tackles, including 12 solos and one for loss of yardage in another outstanding defensive outing in the loss to Tyler Consolidated.
Honorable Mention went to Drew LeMasters and Hunter Partridge of Magnolia. LeMasters laid out 12 Knights, that included six solos and one tackle for loss of yardage, while Partridge dropped 11, that included seven solos and three behind the line of scrimmage.
During the Fall sports season, athletes that win Player of the Week can only win once during the Fall season, but can win again once post season, and when playoffs begin.
Only athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley Wetzel are the only schools recognized. The student athletes are selected by the sports staff at the Wetzel Chronicle.
