Jordan Delaney Heading To State
After winning the state track meet last spring, Eagles’ senior sensation Jordan Delaney gets a crack at the state cross country meet next weekend at Cabel Midland on Saturday at 9 a.m., after finishing sixth in the WVSSAC Class-A/AA at West Taylor Elementary School in Grafton.
Delaney crossed the finish line with a solid time of 20:41, good enough for sixth place. She will look to add another state championship to her mix of accomplishments. Sophomore teammate Breanna Barbera finished with a time of 23:02, good enough for 28th place in the 86 girls field.
For the Wildcats, Shelby Gatian was the first to cross the finish line for Paden City ran a 33:44, while teammates Paige Leonard and Taylor Ebert followed closely at 34:24 and 34:25, respectively.
Phillip Barbour, Fairmont Senior and Berkley Springs finished first, second and third, respectively, with Jessica Melvin finished with the best time at 19:43.

In the boys’ race, Trenton Robinson finished first for the Magnolia runners with a time of 21:19, while Mason Dowell (22:02), Dan Goddard (22:24) and Austin Pyles (25:22) closed out the Blue Eagle runners.
Cade Crislip of Paden City led all Wildcat runners with a time of 22:34, while Damien Britton (24:55), Jacob Amos (29:21), Paxton Pierce (30:50) and Cyrus Stillwagner (30:51) finished the Wildcats boys’ team.
