Bishop Donahue Swats Hornets in 59-0 Blowout

HUNDRED – Bishop Donahue scored 35 points in the opening quarter and cruised to a 59-0 shutout against Hundred on Friday night at Cosgray Field.

Donahue ran back the opening kickoff back close to midfield and quarterback Jimmy Hull connected with J.C. Custer for a 28-yard touchdown pass to take a 6-0 advantage minutes into the game.

After holding the Hornets to a three-and-out, Bishop Donahue scored when Anthony Robbins hooked up with Koltin Kleeh for a 17-yard pitch and catch to extend its lead to 14-0 after Hull took it in on a 2-point conversion.

Donahue scored three more touchdowns in the opening quarter, two by air and on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Hull to Kleeh and a 88-yard pass from Robbins to Jacob Beyser. Custer scored on a 65-yard touchdown scamper.

Bishop only scored once in the second quarter on a Gage Wilson 5-yard touchdown run then had fresh uniforms for the remainder of the night. The Bishops ran up 41-0 lead at halftime.

Bishop tallied two more touchdowns in the third and one in the fourth to end the game, and took a knee for their conversion attempts.

For the Hornets, Danny Stewart accumulated 25 yards on 16 attempts on the ground, while passing for 3 of 19 for 15 yards and one interception. Chase Sturm added 10 yards on seven carries. Sturm caught all the Stewart passes for 15 yards.

For the Bishops, Hull was 3-for-4 for 103 yards through the air and a pair of touchdowns, while tacking on 22 yards and a score on four carries.

Robbinson was 2-for-4 for 104 yards and two touchdowns, while Custer rushed for 82 yards and a score on four carries.
