River Sweeps Season Series
Ohio State-bound Jensen Caretti outscored Magnolia, 35-33, to help River win the series clincher, 67-33, Feb. 11 inside the MHS HammerDome.
Magnolia played its cross-river rival even in the opening period, but Caretti and company went on a 27-7 run in the second period and never looked back to gain the nod.
Caretti led all-scorers with 33 points, including four-long range bonus bombs, while pulling down eight rebounds, and making five steals, and blocking four Blue Eagle shots.
Meanwhile, teammate Brielle Williams, added a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Lauren Flannery dropped in seven points and dished out seven assists.
In addition, Haylee Winkler sank a pair of baskets, while Abbey Caldwell, Candace Caldwell, Riley Lollathin and Livi Rose each scored two points.
Grace Berisford was the only double-digit scorer for the Eagles with 10 points, that included a pair of 3-pointers, while Taylor Ludewig netted eight points, that also included a pair of long range bonus bombs.
In addition, Jordan Delaney had six points, while Kelsi Chapman sank five points, including a three-ball, and Autumn Cecil knocked down two baskets.
