Wildcats Claw Past Blue Devils

Paden City picked up its third win of the season with a 46-37 victory against Beallsville in the opening game Jan. 30 of the New Martinsville Rotary Challenge. The Wildcats (3-12) were pitted against the girls from Ohio and came out looking to get a victory. After playing to a 12-12 tie at the end of one quarter, Beallsville outscored the Wildcats 8-6 to take a two-point halftime lead.

Paden City regrouped at halftime and came out of the locker room to outscore Beallsville 28-17 to come away with a nine-point win. Darien Ritchie had a monster game by pouring in 16 points and hauling in 16 rebounds to pace the way. Backing her up was freshman Hannah Loy, who pumped in 15, including two three balls and Chelsea Baker with 12. Paige Leonard added two to close out the scoring.
