Big Third Quarter Lifts Paden City

Paden City outscored Hundred 13-2 in the third period to break away with a hard-fought 52-28 victory Jan. 19 inside Bob Burton Gymnasium.

After leading by 26-17 at the break, the Wildcats used a 13-2 run in the third period and 13-9 in the fourth to gain the season-sweep of Hundred.

Hannah Loy paced the ‘Cats with 19 points, that included a pair of bonus bombs, while teammates Darien Ritchie and Chelsea Baker each netted 10 points.

Ashlyn Moses tacked on five points, while Hope Cooper and Alli Suter each tallied three points. Delaney Lantz finished the Wildcats scoring, netting a basket.

For the Hornets, Josie Phillips led the charge with nine points, while Emily Rine and Ashley Miller each tallied five points. Madeline Goff and Meliah Umstead each tallied three points, while Mady Wheeler netted two points, and Valerie Soles one.

Wildcats Fall Big To

Bishop Donahue, 82-30

Bishop Donahue scored 49 points in the first half, while holding Paden City to 16 points, and then coasted the rest of the way, winning 82-30 Jan. 18 in McMechen.

Darien Ritchea paced the Wildcats with a season-high 13 points, while Hannah Loy followed with eight points, including a pair of three-pointers. Alli Suter tacked on four points, while Chelsea Baker tickled the twine from beyond the arc. Paige Leonard ended all the Wildcats scoring with a basket.

The Bishops recorded 13 3-pointers, with Jewell Parpara leading the way with six of them, and sister Josie three.
