Valley Boosters Honor Members of 1,000-Point Club

The Valley Athletic Boosters acknowledged four female basketball players who scored more than 1,000 points in their career before the Valley against Notre Dame Dec. 1 inside the Valley gymnasium.

The boosters also put up a plaque acknowledging any and all 1,000 point scorers in the future.

VHS past Head Coach Larry Weekley acknowledged the girls in the middle of the gym floor and high-lighted their careers. Wright played from 1976-1979 and scored 1,067 points. She is the single-game high scorer with 50 points against Sistersville, and was the first female player to receive first-team honors all-state at Valley. In her career she and her teammates were responsible for 60 wins and only 19 losses, while earning many accolades. She was also the first freshman to start on the state runner-up team in 1976.

Miracle played at Valley from 1983-1986 and scored 1,002 points. She was a four-year starter. She was picked special mention All-State during her senior season and won many other awards during her career. Her best season was in her junior year when she scored 306 points.

Ueltschy is the all-time scorer with 1,325 and the top rebounder with 1,053. She has earned many accolades during her career from 2000-2004, with the highlight being chosen second-team All-State.

Brown scored 1,200 points during her career from 2001-2005, scoring a season-high 374 points in her freshman and senior seasons. She is the second female player to be on the first-team All-State and received many, many accolades during her career.
