Pilots Open Season With Victory

River Pilot Lukas Isaly scored 19 points and stuffed the stat sheet with five rebounds, five steals and dished out five assists to lead River to a 78-42 victory over the Frontier Cougars Nov. 27 at Frontier High School in the season opener.

The Pilots opened up with a modest 16-12 advantage to start the game, but doubled up the Cougars 16-8 in the second period for a 32-20 lead at the break.

Both teams scored 13 markers in the third period, but the Pilots out-scored Frontier 25-9 in the final period for the win.

Besides Isaly, the Pilots had three other double-digit scorers.

Brandon Smith tallied 15 points and pulled down five boards, while Parker Caretti and Blaze Amos scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

In addition, Isaac Curtis tacked on five points, while Michael Collins drilled a triple. Joey Flannery, Ben Riley and Michael Dierkes each sank a deuce. Jordan Doty finished the Pilot scoring with a free throw.
