Ludewig Paces Magnolia
Magnolia junior point guard Taylor Ludewig nearly had a triple-double in the Eagles’ season opener. She scored 11 points that included a pair of bonus bombs, while pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds and eight assists. She also made four steals to lead Magnolia to a 68-54 victory over Monroe Central on Dec. 3 in Woodsfield.
After falling behind by a modest 21-15 score, the Lady Eagles put it all together out-scoring their hosts, 34-18, in the two middle periods, and coasted the rest of the way in its victory over a tough Lady Seminole squad that was led by Allison Kuhn with 24 points.
Magnolia was led by junior forward Kelsi Chapman with a game-high 26 points, that included a three-ball.
Grace Berisford tallied 17 markers, that included two from long range.
In addition, Jordan Delaney pumped in six points, including one triple, while Autum Cecil and Anna Gibb each tallied four markers. Cecil also pulled down 11 rebounds for Magnolia.
The Ladies from Magnolia will host Wheeling Central Tuesday, Dec. 8 inside the HammerDome with a junior varsity start at 6 p.m.
