Paden City Wins 3 of 4 At Rumble
The Paden City Lady Wildcats won its first three matches at the “Rumble Between The Region” at Ravenswood High School before losing to Moorefield in the finale.
The ‘Cats opened up with a 25-18 win before losing 20-25 in set two, then cleaned house with a 16-14 overtime victory in the tie-breaker.
Four ‘Cat servers scored in double figures, while two others added double digit in assists and kills in the opening victory over Buffalo.
Cydney Blatt led the way with 14 points, while Kallie Arnett and Malayna Price served up 11 points, and Aubrey Neff 10. Abigail Still rocked the house with 11 kills, while Taylor Cosper dished out 13 assists.
In the two set 25-23 and 25-22 win over Wayne, Neff and Price evenly split 28 points, while Arnett followed with seven points and seven kills. Blatt tacked on six points and seven kills, while Cosper added five points, eight assists and four digs. In addition, Still smacked four kills, while Dezirae Middleton contributed four points and four digs.
In the 25-21 two set win over Greater Beckley, Neff and Blatt each scored a dozen service points. Blatt added eight kills and Neff tacked on five digs and six assists. Cosper came away with eight points, three digs and 10 assists.
In addition, Still pounded out eight kills, while Arnett tallied seven points and three digs. Price finished with five points and eight digs, while Middleton finished the ‘Cats stats with six service points.
In the loss to Moorefield Arnett led the way with seven points and seven kills, while Cosper and Neff each tallied five points.
In addition, Price scored four points, Blatt, three points and made six kills, while Middleton tallied three points and made five digs. Still and Jenna Ferrebee combined for seven kills.
Paden City will host Hundred/Linsly Sept. 24 and Cameron/River Sept. 28, Wheeling Central/Bishop Donahue Sept. 29 with all three tri matches starting at 5:30 p.m.
