‘Iceman’ Seckman Ready to Cool Off Competition
Carter “Iceman” Seckman (#54) is senior at Magnolia High School who plays right guard for the Big Eagles on offense and middle linebacker on defense. Playing on the offensive line, Seckman doesn’t get the recognition that the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers do, but he doesn’t care, he is a team player that knows his role as a player.
He understands that the line must block and protect his teams offensive weapons, and when they produce he and the rest of the hogs up front are a proud group and when they don’t they just don’t quit, they try their best to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Seckman knows he and his front line must work harder than anyone to make sure their team has a chance to succeed and when their quarterback, running backs and receivers do well they know they did well too.
On defense, Seckman was a key ingredient that helped Magnolia turn things around after loosing some tough games at the start of the season.
The “Iceman” as his father, Chad, calls him after a Marvel Comic super hero, just takes things in stride and works hard into helping his team achieve their team goal, winning another state championship. His personal goal is to break the school tackle record.
At 6’2 and 230 pounds, teams are going to counter with their strongest kids to go up against, so he works hard in being at his best. He was one of the teams captains last season and has worked as hard as as he could to keep the job once more this season as well.
