West Virginia Wins Big in BACF Classic
The annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis football classic was played on Friday night in Marrietta at the Marietta College Don Drumm Stadium. The local area was well represented in the contest as Paden City’s Zach Heasley and Denton Thomas were both on the roster as was Tyler Consolidated’s Nick Anderson,
Heasley, who has already signed to play at West Virginia Wesleyn in the fall, saw plenty of action as he played the entire game on defense and was credited with a quarterback sack and several tackles. He also assisted on several others.
Heasley played some at quarterback on offense and gained 4 yards on a quarterback keeper.
Anderson also saw action on both sides of the ball as a defense and offensive lineman. Anderson was also in on a few tackles and provided a couple key blocks on offense,
Thomas played mainly on specialty teams and performed very well. West Virgina went on to win the game in style with a big 28-6 victory to bring home the trophy.
The Annual Classic is played each year in June and is a major event in support of Cystic Fibrosis. Each year seniors from local schools are chosen to participate and this year the local area was well represented by these young men from Paden City and Tyler Consolidated.
