Lady Wildcats Outhit Blue Eagles to Win

The Lady Wildcats of Paden City came through with some with some good defense and strong hitting to take a sectional victory over rival Magnolia on May 4 in Cameron.

Monday’s battle was a classic that saw the Lady Blue Eagles take a 5-1 lead before the Lady Cats came right back to put six on the board in the top of the second to go ahead 7-5. Both teams put one more up in the next three innings as defense seemed to take over the game, and at the end of five the score stood at 8-6.

In the bottom of the sixth however, the Eagles lit up the board for four to take a 10-8 lead before the Lady Cats bats came to life to pound out seven runs in their final at bat. The score than stood at 15-10. Magnolia put on a valient comeback scoring three in the bottom of the inning but it wasn’t enough and Paden City took home the victory.

Kayla Hizer had a big night at the plate for P.C. smashing a hard hit thriple and pounding a long ball over the fence for four RBI’S on the night. Taylor Cosper had two triples and two RBI’S while Aubrey Neff added a well hit home run driving in two RBI’S. Amber Neff had a single and drilled a triple, adding an RBI to the her credit. Hannah Stanley hit the ball well with a single and a double driving in a run and Abbie Still, Megan Pierce and Tori Anderson all added singles and RBI’S on the night.
