Hundred Girls Sweep Trinity

The Hundred Hornet Girls’ Softball Team swept a double-header with Morgantown Trinity in Hundred April 17.

In the opener, the Hornets bats were sizzling as they pounded out 10 hits, led by Dakota Kuhn with three singles and four RBIs, while Brittany Tustin contributed two singles and a double. Paige Shriver worked strong in the mercy-rule shortened game, giving up three hits and striking out eight batters.

In the night-cap, the Hornets belted out nine hits, led by Lexia Bragg’s double and triple, while Shriver got the win from the circle, fanning nine Trinity batters. Meliah Umstead doubled in two runs, while Allie Hayes singled in one.

Trinity took its only lead in the top of the seventh, but the Lady Hornets’ Sydney Hoyle singled home Lexie Bragg in the bottom half of the seventh for the walk-off victory.

With the two wins, Hundred improved to 3-9 on the season.

Cameron scored 15 runs in the second inning and went on to cruise to a 19-3 victory over the Lady Hornets of Hundred in a make up game last week.

Paige Shriver took the loss from the mound, striking out two, while Dakota Kuhn smacked two RBI singles, and Brittany Tustin an RBI single.
