‘Jacks Beat Van In H.I.T.

The Valley Lumberjacks outscored Van 36-16 in the second and third periods and held on for a 67-50 victory Feb. 14 in the H.I.T. Consolation game at Summersville.

Tucker Cain scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Lumberjacks, while Trey Streets netted 14 markers that included a pair of long-range bonus baskets. Jack Wells followed with seven points, while Hayden Lancaster netted five points.

In addition, Dylan Irvin and Joey Preat each sank four markers, while Preat hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds. Lathe Ueltschy, Kinsey Utt, Peyton Palmer and Alex Midcap each scored a deuce for all the Lumberjack points. Wells was voted the team’s MVP of the H.I.T.
