Wildcats’ Second Half Comeback Staves Off ‘Jacks

The Paden City Wildcats – down 11 points at the break – outscored the Valley Lumberjacks 40-18 in the second half to gain a 62-51 victory Dec. 27 in Pine Grove.
Kennedy Cain scored a game-high 31 points, including three baskets from beyond the arc, to pace Paden City. He also hauled in six boards and made five assists. Zach Heasley followed with 15 markers and seven boards.
In addition, Luke Cooper netted 11 points, including two bonus bombs, while hauling in seven boards and dishing out five assists. Craig Allen posted three markers, while Hayden Hizer contributed a deuce.
Trey Streets scored a team-high 14 points for the ‘Jacks, including three first-half bonus bombs, while Joey Preat netted 13 markers and Triston Kocher nine points. Jack Wells knocked in six markers, while Hayden Lancaster tallied five points, and Dusty Lowe hit a deuce.
The Wildcats will start the new year on the road against the St. John Irish, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m., while Valley will host Cameron Jan. 7 at 6 p.m.
