Hundred Loses Opener

By Staff | Sep 4, 2013

The Hundred Hornets were defeated in their 2013 football opener 48-0 by the Montcalm Generals, at Montcalm, 20 minutes west of Princeton and about the same north of Bluefield, in Mercer County.

“They got us pretty good on offense,” said Head Football Coach Rex Rush, “but we didn’t do all that bad on defense.”

Defensively, twin brothers Brandon and Courtland Armstrong had four tackles, with quarterback Brandon Armstrong blocking a Montcalm point-after attempt. Offensively, the Hornets claimed 33 yards of real estate, with Brandon White garnering most of them at 33 yards. Brandon Armstrong picked up three yards for Hundred.

In the air, Hundred had 22 yards passing. Courtland Armstrong was 2-15, while running back and center Logan Kuhn caught a pass for seven yards.

Hundred came home with five injured players: tailback Brandon White, quarterback Brandon Armstrong, defensive end Ethan Geho, tight end Isaac Hornbeck and runningback/center Kuhn.

“Everyone appears to be okay,” said Rush, “but they are going to rule out a concussion on Ethan.”

Next Saturday, the Hornets will host Hannan, fresh off a 41-8 routing by Valley last week.
