River Girls Now 17-7

River 9, Buckeye Trail 2

In a re-match with Buckeye Trail April 23, Gabby Gaudy keyed a 9-2 win with three singles, a triple, and four RBI. Winning pitcher Renae Riley struck out four and walked two in a complete game.

The win puts the Lady Pilots at 17-7 on the season, but were one win away from making it to the OVAC semifinals.

River 10,

Tyler Consolidated 0

The Lady Pilots blanked Tyler Consolidated 10-0 April 20 at Sardis, with Gaudy striking out seven Tyler batters and walking one. Anna Ruffener had no strikeouts or walks in one inning of work. Gaudy contributed to the offense, also, with a triple and a double.

Riley, Monica Curtis, and Haylee Bowers each singled twice and brought home two runners apiece. Mackenzie Marshall tripled and drove in one.

River 5, Frontier 0

River also blanked Frontier Local 5-0 April 19 at Sardis. Riley sat down six and walked none in a complete game. Bowers doubled, singled, homered and drove in five Lady Pilots to score.

River 14,

Buckeye Trail 4

Gaudy tossed a complete game April 17 at Sardis, striking out nine batters and walking zero in River’s 14-4 win over Buckeye Trail. Neither team scored until the third frame, when River put six on the board and held the Trail to four. River went on to score five runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to go up 12-7 on the season.

Gaudy helped herself to a triple and drove home two teammates, while Stephanie Murdock and Mikayla Ciezeski did the same, with Ciezeski adding two singles. Riley singled, doubled and plated one, while Lindsey Goddard had a double, a single, and one RBI. Mackenzie Marshall tacked on a double for River.

River 8, Shenandoah 6

River 7, Shenandoah 9

River split a double-hitter with Shenandoah April 14, winning the first fielding 8-6, but dropping the second 7-9. Riley got the win from the mound in game one, sitting down three Shenandoah batters and walking two. Curtis singled twice and Brianna Cook hit a double.

In game two, Gaudy took the loss with seven strikeouts and three walks. She also put up three singles on offense. Haylee Bowers tripled, RBId a runner and singled, while Murdock tripled, singled and drove home a run and Riley singled thrice.

River 0, Fort Frye 4

The Lady Pilots hosted 10-0 Fort Frye April 13, losing 0-4 in seven innings, although holding the Fort scoreless in five frames. Riley threw out four batters and walked one. Gaudy doubled for River.

River 7, Tyler Consolidated 6

At Kidwell April 12, River scored six runs in the first inning and one in the third to end all scoring against the Lady Silver Knights of Tyler Consolidated. Riley threw four innings, sitting down three and issuing no passes, while Gaudy struck out six and walked none. Gaudy singled twice and plated a teammate, while Murdock singled twice and drove home two.

River 16, Caldwell 7

River rolled over Caldwell 16-7 on seven hits April 8 at Sardis, with Gaudy striking out 12 Caldwell batters and walking none. Curtis sat down two Caldwell batsmen and issued no passes in one and two-thirds innings of work. Bowers drove in six teammates to score and got on twice after being hit by errant Caldwell pitches.
