Wildcats Get By Hornets April 12

Paden City and Hundred duked it out in tit-for-tat baseball action April 12 at Paden City, who emerged victorious, 20-19, on 11 hits in seven innings.

A walk by Taylor Still brought home three runners, including Craig Allen, to seal the deal.

“This was one of the wildest baseball games I’ve seen in the 24 years I’ve been coaching,” said PCHS Head Baseball Coach Brent Croasmun of the close, high-scoring game.

Winning pitcher was Kyle Postlewait, with four strike outs and two walks.

Zach Heasley sat down five and walked one. Heasley also scattered three singles and hit home four teammates. Jamie Billiter had a single, a double, and four RBIs, while Matt Barker brought home two teammates and hit as many singles. Jared Stewart singled, tripled, and brought home two.

For the Hornets, Christopher Varner had two singles, a double, a triple, and brought home two and Tyler Opyoke had four singles and batted in as many.

Mhar Olyan was charged with the loss for Hundred. He issued three passes, while Varner struck out one and walked five. Nicholas Phillips struck out nine and walked three, while Brandon White sat down three and walked two Wildcats.

White also singled and RBIed one; Brock Ice hit a single, a double, and brought home a runner. In addition, Randy Moore singled and brought home two runners while Phillips hit two singles and a double; Jade Haines had four singles and an RBI.
