Pictured is the Diamond Queens 18/u Girls’ Fastpitch Softball Team, who won the USSSA Roy Arman Classic Firecracker Frenzy championship June 3 in South Charleston.

In the second row, fifth from left, is Kelsey Loy, a pitcher and first baseman from Paden City; and General Manager Bill Abraham, back row, third from left, also of Paden City. Not playing in this tournament were Taylor Clem of Middlebourne and Abby Durig of New Martinsville.

The team won in double-elimination competition with 11 other 18/u teams from several states and qualified for the USSSA World Series later this year in Kissimee, Fla. The team was previously managed by 60-year baseball and fastpitch veteran Roy Arman of New Martinsville, who now serves as Diamond Queens Head Coach Emeritus.
