New Martinsville youth Brooks Parsons won a state championship at the Hershey Track and Field meet in Charleston.

Parsons got first place in the softball throw and was third in the 200 meter dash.

He threw 136 feet to win first place in the softball throw in the 10-11 year old boys’ division

He is the son of Robby Parsons and Christina and Cory Coulter. His grandparents are Rita Berardinelli, the late Chester Parsons, Traci Mullins, and Dave Grimm, all of New Martinsville.

He is the great-grandson of Ruth Stine of New Martinsville and Bob Blatt of Paden City.
