Pictured is MHS Head Boys Track Coach Matt Quinet with his 2010-11 Track Coach of the Year award. Quinet received the honor at Laidley Field in Charleston June 18 at the North/South High School Football game. Quinet, as well as 11 other coaches, won Coach of the Year in their respective sports.

Quinet led his 11 guys to OVAC and regional track championships, as well as the West Virginia State Class-AA Championship — the eighth state title for the boys.

During his four years at Magnolia, he also was on four state track title teams, including the team’s last championship in 2002. Only 11 players participated in the 2011 season, with 10 qualifying for state.
