Ludewig Signs With Charleston

Magnolia High School senior Padyn Ludewig will continue her academic and athletic interests at University of Charleston as a basketball scholar as she pursues a degree in elementary education. During her Blue Eagle career, Ludewig has lettered in basketball all four years, including being the team’s captain during her junior and senior seasons.

Ludewig earned OVAC and All-State Honorable Mention during her first two years at Magnolia and was named to the all-county first team as a sophomore. In her junior and senior seasons, she earned All-State First Team honors and received the same distinction in the OVAC. She was named all-\valley captain in both her junior and senior seasons and was chosen as Athlete of the Week by both the Parkersburg Sentinel and WTOV-9 during her junior season. In addition, WTOV named Ludewig as one of the best nine Ohio Valley female atheletes in her junior season.

During her outstanding athletic career, Ludeqwig has scored over 1,000 points, averaged 20 points a game and averaged four steals and four assists during both her junior and senior seasons. She also has the school record for the most foul shots attempted and made during a single game, 18-26. In addition, she scored in double figues for 42 consecutive games.

With a 3.5 GPA, Ludewig also excels in academics. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and the Math National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta. She was a Girls’ State representative and was the co-president of the Young Ladies Union. She also participated in the Service Club at Magnolia, and was a life guard at Lewis Wetzel Park in New Martinsville.

She is the daughter of Chuck and Traci Ludewig of New Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of Patty and George Sebar of New Martinsville and Virginia and Walter Ludewig of Follansbee.
