By Staff | Mar 30, 2011

The Wetzel Chronicle and the Tyler Star News have joined forces to help the area strike out cancer with a Bowlathon April 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Bruce Lanes in New Martinsville.

The Wetzel Chronicle and the Tyler Star News will sponsor a Relay For Life Bowlathon April 1 at Bruce Lanes from 6-8 p.m.

Labeled “It’s No April Fools Day Joke, Let’s Strike Out Cancer,” the Wetzel Chronicle and Tyler Star News will join forces, along with area Wetzel and Tyler County residents, to go out and get pledges. They, in return, will bowl two games trying to knock down as many pins down as they can en route to raising funds to help strike out cancer.

Persons interested in going out and getting pledges, please contact either the Wetzel Chronicle or Tyler Star News for a pledge sheet.

Everyone going out and raising at least $30 will receive two games of Glow In The Dark Bowling free, along with shoe rental, pizza, refreshments, and a Strike Out Cancer T-Shirt. Persons who prefer to make a donation toward the fund raiser should send pledges or donations to the Wetzel Chronicle at P.O. Box 289, New Martinsville, WV 26155 or the Tyler Star News, P.O. Box 191, Sistersville, WV 26159.

Many other door prizes will be awarded, along with color pin deals where you can get more prizes for rolling a strike. In addition, there will be music and raffles all day long in this event to help stamp out cancer in this lifetime.

The Wetzel Chronicle is located at the red light at Walmart and the Tyler Star News is located in Sistersville beside First Federal Savings Bank
