Hornets Split Two OVAC Games
The OVAC Class-AAA Oak Glen Golden Bears used a 25-10 run first-half run against the Class-A Hundred Hornets and held off a gallant Hornet comeback attempt for a 40-30 victory, Feb. 18 at Oak Glen.
The Hornets’ Dalton Kuhn led all scorers with 22 points, seven rebounds and one steal, while Brady Koontz, Jericho Park and Tyrell Watson netted the rest of Hundred’s points.
Hundred 44,
Paden City 29
Hundred claimed a 13-4 lead after one period of play and hung on for a 44-29 victory over Paden City in the boys’ OVAC consolation match, Feb. 15 at the Hornets Nest.
Dalton Kuhn led the home team with 11 markers, while Tyrell Watson added nine points. Jerico Park followed with seven points, while Chris Shackleford and Rusty Morris each netted five tallies.
Shane Kuhn was held to four points for Hundred, while Kirk Shriver swished a basket from beyond the arch.
Wildcat senior Zach Yost led all scorers with 13 points, including a threeball, while Geoffrey Bidwell added 10 markers that included a pair of three point baskets.
Trey Leonard and Taylor Still tallied four and two points, respectively.
