OUE ‘Hoops For HoHo’ Clinic On Tap For Dec. 22

By Staff | Dec 15, 2010

Ohio University Eastern will sponsor the 10th annual Hoops for HoHo, a free youth basketball clinic, on Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Health and Physical Education Center. The clinic is open to boys and girls in K-sixth grade.

OU Eastern Athletic Director E. J. Schodzinski will direct the clinic and will be assisted by OUE Men’s Basketball Coach Donnie Madzia.

The Panther hoop teams are also scheduled to assist with the clinic.

The clinic will focus on the FUNdamentals: passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defense.

The clinic is free, but all participants are asked to bring a new or gently used toy which will directly benefit the local community. Santa’s Elves will be on hand to collect the toys for the Bethlehem Apostolic Temple.

Schodzinski said, “The Christmas Clinic feels like a natural. Anytime you are able to help others, particularly at Christmas time, it gives you a great feeling. We feel like this clinic will enable us to treat the participants with a great basketball experience, while helping the local community at the same time.”

Schodzinski continued with a smile, “The timing may even help parents conduct last minute shopping while their children are at the clinic.”
