The River Pilots welcomed Austin McConn back to the lineup after being out sick the past several weeks. He rushed for 117 yards on 22 carries, in leading the Pilots to their first victory of the season, a 21-7 victory over the Buckeye Trail Warriors, Oct. 22 at Lore City, Ohio, southeast of Cambridge.
The Pilots’ James West scored the game’s first TD on a five-yard run while Tanner Wright split the uprights on the PAT.
Jonathan Stewart added a one yard touchdown in the second period, while Garth Richter hauled in a 64-yard Cody Caldwell TD pass for all of the Pilots’ scoring.
Trail’s only tally came on a 69-yard run in the second period. The hosts lost one fumble and had one pass intercepted, while only committing two infractions for 10 yards lost.
