‘Cats Split Two
One might think that a let-down was in order after the Paden City Wildcats dropped the OVAC Volleyball Tournament championship match. But, after dropping a hard-fought 23-25 opening set match to Morgantown Trinity in a tri-match, the Lady Wildcats rocked the Warriors in the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-14 to win the match.
Five Wildcats scored in double figures led by the ‘Italian Filly’ Chairo Di Leo with a game-high 18 points, that included three service aces. She tallied a double-double by adding 12 digs and provided seven nasty kills. Amanda Heasley tallied 14 points and contributed eight kills and four digs, while the duo of Dominique Craft and Megan Cutlip combined for 24 points, four service aces, 17 digs, and 16 kills. Lynsee Parsons tacked on 11 points, while adding 26 assists and four digs. Loan Cosper tallied six points and seven digs.
In the second tri-match with Tyler Consolidated, the Wildcats dropped two straight, 13-25 and 18-25, for a split.
Craft was the only Wildcat in double figures for Paden City. She tallied 11 points, including three service aces, while adding three kills and seven digs to lead the ‘Cats. Heasley followed with eight points and three kills, while Cutlip and Parsons each tallied four markers. Cutlip paced the ‘Cats with seven kills, while Parsons had 58 sets. Di Leo was held to only three points, while Cosper added three digs.
